- 200 ml. sour cream

- 100 ml. milk

- 100g grated Emmentaler cheese

-Salt and pepper & nutmeg

- Water

HOW TO MAKE IT

Preparation approx. 30 min

Baking: 35-50 min

Start by preparing the dough. Mix butter, salt, sugar and flour well together. Add eggs and continue mixing the dough until it becomes homogeneous. Add a little water if the dough needs a bit of moisture. Cool the dough while preparing the filling.

Peel and cut onions into slices. Melt butter on strong heat and add the onions with constant stirring. Be careful not to burn the onions. When the onions start to be caramelized, add water. Allow the water to evaporate under continued strong heat. Repeat the process until the onions are well cooked and caramelized. This process takes between 30 and 35 minutes. When the onions are done add sugar, salt and pepper. Put the onions aside while preparing the rest of the filling.

In another bowl, mix eggs, sour cream, milk, salt, pepper and a bit of nutmeg. Add the onions and mix it all well together.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease the pie pan with butter.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease the tart pan with butter. If a regular tart is baked, bake the pie dough for 20 minutes without the filling. (This doesn't count for the small tarts). Place a piece of baking paper over the pastry with beans in it so it does not rise

Add the filling and sprinkle with grated Emmentaler cheese. Bake the pie for 35 minutes until the pie is golden.
